Ascenti unveils biggest ever recruitment drive

Physiotherapy and healthcare provider Ascenti has launched its biggest ever recruitment drive to find 140 physiotherapists across the UK over the next 12 months, following a 300% increase in demand for some of its musculoskeletal services over the last year.

The Fareham-headquartered company was ranked 110 in The Business Magazine's Solent 250 list this year and is the UK’s largest private employer of physios, with 300 currently delivering more than 600,000 in-person and virtual appointments across the UK each year.

Over the next 12 months, Ascenti plans to increase the size of its physio team by almost 50%, improving both its reach and appointment capacity. This will enable clinicians to deliver approximately one million in-person and virtual appointments each year. In addition, as it operates as a partner to the NHS and 400 private businesses across the UK, Ascenti will also be expanding its support teams, creating a further 35 roles at its Bristol and Fareham offices.

The recruitment drive follows a surge in demand for the company’s physiotherapy-led services, including a 300% increase in requirements for private medical insurance (PMI) and occupational health offerings over the last 12 months. Ascenti is on track to achieve record revenue in excess of £40m next year. If the company achieves its recruitment target, it expects to double revenue within the next few years.

The increase in demand has been largely driven by a pre-pandemic investment Ascenti has made in digital services, which meant that when Covid-19 hit, it was immediately able to shift to offering patients online appointments. A second factor driving growth is the fact that physiotherapy is increasingly seen by private medical insurers and occupational health providers as a key route to giving members and employees easy access to high-quality proactive and preventative healthcare.

Commenting on the growth and recruitment drive, Stephanie Dobrikova, CEO of Ascenti, said:

“Demand for our industry-leading services has never been greater. In order to ensure we’re best placed to keep up with surging demand, we’re looking to recruit a further 140 forward-thinking physios across the country to deliver a mix of both in-person and online musculoskeletal-focused services.”
