Charters Estate Agents acquire Southampton’s Clarke Mews
Charters Estate Agents, which has branches across the south, has acquired the sales and lettings books of Clarke Mews, which has closed its three branches.
The sale was assisted by Whiteley-based financial planner Portland Leonard Curtis, which advised on the sale of the lettings book owned by Clarke Mews Lettings Ltd, which remains solvent, and the property sales book owned by the parent company, CMS Southampton Limited, which has been placed into liquidation.
As a result of the sale, customers interests will be unaffected and Charters will take over the completion of all pending transactions.
Andrew Rumsey, client director at Portland Leonard Curtis, said: “Clarke Mews had a long-standing reputation in the local area and, whilst circumstances in recent years have meant that the business has struggled, the interest in acquiring the pipeline was still strong, resulting in the successful sale to Charters Estate Agents.”
No further details of the deal were released.
