Evernden Cycles acquired by Cadence Performance
A cycle shop in Paddock Wood, Kent has been acquired by London-based Cadence Performance. In purchasing Evernden Cycles, it becomes Cadence's sixth retail store.
Evernden Cycles was founded in 1952 by Percival Evernden and has been run as a family business for three generations. With the current owners set to retire, they sold it to the growing brand. Everden’s staff will be retained as part of the deal.
George Stavrinidis, director at Cadence Performance, said: “We are privileged to be taking over this third-generation family-run business; the high standards of service will be kept as we honour the rich heritage of this store and the community it serves.

“We’re eager to begin representing cycling in this area, supporting the sport with all our additional services, including bike fitting, coaching, ride-outs, workshop and much more.”
The acquisition extends Cadence’s geographic reach.
The store will initially trade under Cadence, before transitioning to a store branded with cycle manufacturer Giant by the end of 2022.
Ian Beasant, managing director of Giant UK, said: “We’re delighted to be working with Cadence as they take over Evernden Cycles. Thanks to years of dedication from Tony Evernden and his team, they have built a strong and loyal following to the brand.”
