First look inside Three UK's new offices in Green Park in Reading
Mobile giant Three UK has released pictures which give a glimpse of what life will be like for employees at their new hybrid-first office offices in Reading's Green Park.
The company, which employs 4,800 people at it offices and stores across the UK, announced on its LinkedIn page that its the first tranche of workers had begun using the site and that its new headquarters would become a 'hub' as part of the firm's new home and office working model.
Three UK is encouraging its employees to see the new HQ as a place they can use in combination with home working rather than a place to work five days a week.
The 117,000 square foot building four upper floors and is set in landscaped grounds with decking overlooking Longwater Lake.
The new offices, designed by Morgan Lovell, offer a variety of design quarters: Visitor; Discovery; Living; Playing; and Meeting.
Within these neighbourhoods are zones which blend into one another, encouraging people to socialise, relax and collaborate. A key feature of the offices are the social and relaxation quarters complete with Foosball, Xbox and pool table, a Sanctuary for personal use, yoga studio, gender neutral facilities and a chill room.
A post from the company read: "Today we welcomed our first group of trialists to our brand new HQ at Green Park in Reading before opening the doors on Monday. We'll see our new hybrid way of working come into full effect that will help us deliver on our company goals and ensure we focus on our life/work balance and wellbeing."
The new offices combine the company's two Thames Valley offices in Reading and Maidenhead offices for the first time.
The former Three building in Maidenhead town centre is now undergoing a £40 million revamp into a multi-occupied workspace and will be know as the Tempo building when it opens in spring next year.
Its offices at Great Brighams Mead in Reading, which have planning permission for 110 apartments, have been sold to residential developer King's Oak for £19m with the sale expected to completed by April 2022 once Three have vacated the building.
Three's offices will be served by the new Green Park Station which is expected to open this summer with trains running every half hour.
The station will consist of two 150m platforms, a new fully accessible station building. an overbridge, bus interchange and cycle parking facilities.
Announcing the move last year, Mark Redmond, Chief People Officer at Three UK, said, “The last 12 months have shown the many benefits of working from home and we believe going forwards a working week at Three will mean people meeting in the office less frequently but with more purpose. We will be rolling this out across all our offices in the UK, and our new office space in Green Park, Reading, is being designed with this hybrid system in mind”.
