Bournemouth-based arts and crafts retailer Hobbycraft increased sales in September by 64% compared with the same time last year as consumers bought from its Halloween range.

The company offered more stock this year with sales of its ceramic and plush pumpkins increasing by 108% and 113% respectively. Demand for autumnal wreaths grew by 80%, while searches for Halloween-themed baking products increased by 106% compared
to last year.

Hobbycraft was ranked at number 17 in The Business Magazine's 2021 edition of the Solent 250 list of the biggest local businesses.

Katherine Paterson, Customer Director at Hobbycraft, said:

“After such a challenging 18 months, with many of us missing out on last year’s Halloween celebrations, it is great to see the nation getting in the spooky spirit already. We anticipate that customers will be looking to create a memorable Halloween.”
