EEF, the manufacturers’ organisation, will run a free webinar to bring firms up to speed on the Apprenticeship Levy. The move comes after the Government published funding guidance late last week, bringing firms a step closer to seeing the Apprenticeship Levy become a business reality in April 2017.
Tim Thomas, director of employment and skills policy at EEF, will be leading the webinar to provide firms with the latest levy updates and help them to understand and identify the funding rates applicable to their business. Almost 700 firms have already registered to attend for free, demonstrating the importance of the Apprenticeship Levy to company bosses today.
Gemma Peck, deputy director of apprenticeship funding at the department for education (DfE) which is now responsible for the levy, will be a guest speaker on the webinar at which firms will also be able to put their questions directly to a key government official.
Thomas said: “The publication of the funding guidance takes us a step closer to seeing the levy become a fact of business life. Firms are still playing catch up and need information and support as they get to grips with what the levy will mean for their business.
The free webinar takes place at 10.30am on Wednesday August 24. Companies are urged to take part and can register to attend here.
