Westminster Group wins airport security contract
Westminster Aviation Security Services Ltd, has been awarded an aviation security training contract for an unnamed ‘major’ UK airport.
This will see the aviation-focused subsidiary of Banbury-based, Westminster Group, delivering ground security officer training to security staff in one of the UK’s busiest airports. The contract is potentially worth several hundred thousand pounds. The training will enhance security operations at the airport by increasing the number of officers available.
Paul Morton, training and compliance director at Westminster, said: “It is testament of Westminster’s excellent reputation, professionalism of its staff and the continuous support given to our clients that has contributed towards the successful award of this contract.
“Westminster’s team of operationally experienced trainers has once again been recognised as first choice for quality and effective training support.”
The news follows a contract in May, which saw Westminster Group agree to supply and install advanced screening solutions to a West African Parliament building for £300,000. The screens will detect weapons and prevent them being taken into the buildings.
