Octopus Energy agree second lease - expanding Slough operations
Renewable power company, Octopus Energy, are to expand their presence at the Slough Trading Estate. Their existing facility makes up a 24,000 square foot area and an agreed second lease will increase that capacity to almost 50,000 sq ft.
The expanded site will house 40 employees and will be used for storage and distribution of products such as heat pumps and photovoltaic solar panels - in addition to office space.
Octopus Energy have stated that the move is part of their sustainability ambitions and values regarding Responsible SEGRO commitments and low carbon growth.
Managing Director of SEGRO, James Craddock spoke about the expansion: “Our customers are increasingly seeking modern, high quality, sustainable warehouses and as such, SEGRO’s commitment to champion low-carbon growth, one of three key commitments from our ‘Responsible SEGRO’ framework, played a significant role in securing this letting.
“Octopus Energy has impressive plans to revolutionise the heat pump sector from its new base on Slough Trading Estate. Not only does it have good proximity to consumers in and around London, it also has access to a large pool of people to deliver these ambitions and benefit from the high skilled, high paid jobs.”
