Growth and Resilience Award
Recent market conditions have presented many businesses with opportunities as well as the more obvious challenges. While growth is by no means the single barometer for success, this award seeks to recognise businesses within the Surrey Kent Sussex 250 that have made the most of the opportunities presented to them, adapting to achieve their maximum potential within their respective sector and in turn growing market share. Surrey Kent Sussex 250 companies will need to demonstrate some of the following for this award: • tangible evidence of commercial success with sustained growth over the past 12 – 18 months; this can include established businesses that have suffered downturns and have implemented recovery programmes • able to demonstrate they have seized the opportunities available to them within the marketplace in which they operate • business performance that highlights a gain in market share which has been maintained despite challenging market conditions; and/or • provide an explanation of the creative initiatives that have been implemented by the business to resolve organisational challenges, establishing an effective business continuity or resilience programme.

We want to identify this year’s highest achieving and most talented FDs from the recently published Surrey/Kent/Sussex 250. These top performers will be shortlisted for the region’s FD of the Year – the winner being revealed at an awards dinner in May 2022. Having operated in the Executive Finance arena for over 40 years, CMA knows what it takes to be a successful FD. We are looking for exceptional performance over what has been a challenging 18 months in the following areas: • Contribution to the performance and growth of the business, with particular reference to how they have supported the business in dealing with the impact of COVID-19 • Effective contribution to strategic direction • An impactful leader with a passion for people development • Involvement in company-wide projects and assessing new market opportunities • Creating stakeholder and shareholder value • Commercially astute, with an appropriate approach to risk and governance • A passion for the business and making a wider contribution to the community. If this sounds like you, or your company’s FD, then please get your nomination in for the region’s FD of the Year!
