The Thames Valley Deals Awards, staged by The Business Magazine, is the leading event in the region’s corporate finance calendar.

The Thames Valley Deals Awards brings together corporate finance advisers, lawyers, bankers, private equity investors, accountants, and funding specialists – plus of course the management teams that have led the deals themselves.

Categories

Corporate Finance Adviser of the Year
The Corporate Finance Adviser of the Year award will be awarded to the person who has had the most significant impact on completion of deals within the region.
Lawyer of the Year
The Lawyer of the Year Award will be presented to the lawyer who has had the most significant impact on completion of deals within the region.
Dealmaker of the Year
The Dealmaker of the Year Award will be presented to the person who has had the most significant impact on completion of deals within the region.
Corporate Finance Advisor of the Year
The Corporate Finance Adviser of the Year Award will be awarded to the key dealmaker of the year, based on a portfolio of deals or even one specific deal that took skill and perseverance to get across the line.
PE Firm of the Year
Private Equity Firm of the Year Award will be presented to a PE firm that has done the deals; either a specific deal or multiple transactions. The PE firm can be Thames Valley or even London based, providing the deal was within the region i.e ‘on patch’
Law Firm of the Year
The Law Firm of the Year Award will be presented to the law firm that has had the most significant impact on completion of deals within the region.The deal activity should be considered, not the general achievements of the firm.
Corporate Finance Team of the Year
The Corporate Finance Team of the Year Award will be presented to the team that has had the most significant impact on completion of deals within the region.
Due Diligence Team of the Year
The Due Diligence Team Award will be presented to the team that has had the most significant impact on completion of deals within the region in the qualifying year.
Lender of the Year over £10m
The Lender of the Year over £10m will be awarded to a business that stands out for funding of any kind, or who is helping to support deals in the region and is seen as having the biggest impact in the larger deals within the region. Funding of any kind is eligible in this category
Lender of the Year under £10m
The Lender of the Year under £10m will be awarded to a business that stands out for funding of any kind, or who is helping to support deals in the region and is seen as having the biggest impact in the region. Funding of any kind is eligible in this category
Small Deal of the Year (under £10m)
The Small Deal of the Year (under £10m) Award is awarded to the deal which is the most significant in terms of its complexity, innovative solution, speed of completion, impact on businesses involved, impact on local economy.
Young Dealmaker of the Year (Under 35)
The Young Dealmaker of the Year (under 35) Award will be presented to the person who has had the most significant impact on completion of deals within the region.
Large Deal of the Year
The Large Deal of the Year Award (over £10m) will be presented to the deal which is the most significant in terms of its complexity, innovative solution, speed of completion, impact on businesses involved, impact on local economy.
Outstanding Achievement Award
This award will be given to the person that is seen as having the biggest achievement in corporate finance in the Thames Valley this year
Corporate Deal of the Year
An award for the sale of a local business to a strategic acquirer that has the most impact on the local economy. Whilst the acquirer may be PE backed, the transaction will include a financing deal to fund an acquisition, a JV, growth of the business, expansion into new products areas or markets/overseas.
‘Purpose-led Business’ Deal of the Year
This award will be given to the company that demonstrates ESG credentials and the sustainability strategy of the company have been leading edge/best in class and therefore made the deal particularly attractive. Could be open to all deals eg both for partial sale/PE investment or general corporate including green initiatives/funding for EV fleet, energy efficiency of office/factory, recycling and new product development.
Midrange Deal of the Year (£10-50 M)
The Mid-range Deal of the Year (£10m - £50m) award will be presented to the deal which is the most significant in terms of its complexity, innovative solution, speed of completion, impact on local economy.
Lifetime Achievement Award
This award is presented to a person in the corporate finance community who has stood out for the work he/she has done in recent years and, equally importantly, for the esteem in which he/she is held among peers and colleagues.
