Free health check for start-up and high-growth businesses
Clarke Willmott LLP has developed a free online health check to help businesses keep on top of their legal requirements and gives them a simple litmus test on how much they are at risk.
Kelvin Balmont, partner and chairman at Clarke Willmott and head of the Southampton office’s corporate team said: “By definition, people with start-ups usually have to spend all the hours they have concentrating on sales and building the business. Fast growth businesses also find that they quickly change and go through thresholds that mean they must comply with different regulations.
“The health check is designed to take just minutes to go through and will identify areas of the business that are non-compliant or need support. Often they are simple things, such as filing the right documents to Companies House.
“Businesses grow quickly and might take on staff and that means there is a whole raft of employment law to be followed as well as health and safety legislation, obligations under the modern slavery act and agreements with customers and suppliers.
“It is often too much for small business owners to cope with and can require hours of research on each subject. That is why we put together the health check. It is a quick and easy way to find out where things are in place and where there might be a need for action.”
Users are asked to answer a series of simple questions and their responses are used to generate a free, personalised report that highlights the areas Clarke Willmott recommends they review.
