In its 18th year of sponsoring the awards, NatWest is the proud sponsor of the Dynamic Business of the Year award.

This award focuses on businesses that have demonstrated a clear vision for the development of their staff, systems, products or services throughout the year. The award recognises commercial success but also how management’s vision has been achieved through its people, the development of new products, M&A strategies and/or capitalisation of new funding, technological or commercial opportunities. In summary, the Dynamic Business of the Year will have differentiated itself in its market, will stand out from the crowd and will demonstrate the ability to move quickly in the pursuit of profitable growth.

“NatWest is delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Dynamic Business of the Year Award. We know how important it is to understand the ambitions, opportunities and challenges your business is facing and we’ve researched this in our recent report Mid-market Britain: the view from the boardroom.

Having been NatWest’s regional director for over 10 years, as well as being a director of the Berkshire/Thames Valley LEP, I know that our local economy continues to earn plaudits as one of the most vibrant and successful in the UK.

We are therefore particularly proud to be sponsoring an award that will give proper recognition to the companies, entrepreneurs and management teams that are playing such a vital role in that success and which will have such an integral part to play in our continued economic prosperity.”

Robin Barnes, regional director, NatWest

JUDGES QUOTES

Bill Gornall-King, IP partner

As a technology and IP partner at Boyes Turner for over 30 years, I never cease to be enthused by the dynamism of the management teams for whom I act.

As president of Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce, I meet many businesses in the region. Despite all the challenges that face them, the energy and dynamism of their leaders helps them to stand out from their competitors and also the Thames Valley to stand out as the UK’s true turbo-charged economy.

So I am delighted to have the opportunity to judge the entries.

Robert Collard, managing director

R Collard has long been involved in the TVBMA, winning the Dynamic Business of the Year title in 2017 and a finalist for Business of the Year in 2018.

This year we celebrate our 25th anniversary, having grown substantially from a sole-trader to employing nearly 300 people, turning over more than £35 million. From our locations across Hampshire, Berkshire and Surrey we offer a complete suite of services to the construction industry and domestic customers, all with a core ethos of sustainability and a zero-to-landfill target.

It is a privilege to be a part of this year’s judging panel and inspiring to read the first-class entries from businesses across the area. I wish you all good luck.

Chris Pritchard, managing director

AVK|SEG (UK) was delighted to accept the award for Thames Valley Dynamic Business of the Year 2018 from Sir Trevor McDonald.

AVK have grown over 30 years to a £50 million company leading the way in standby generation, UPS systems and critical power in the UK, Ireland and Europe supporting major financial institutions, data centres, hospitals and commercial buildings. Large turnkey engineered power solutions, combined with excellent customer service for maintenance has been the foundation for AVK to establish themselves as the UK’s leader in critical power protection with continued growth potential.

I am honoured to have been invited to judge this year’s entries. The diversity of companies has made it an interesting competition.
