Infohealth acquires diabetes management app
Digital health solutions developer, Infohealth ltd, has acquired Quin Technology. The deal involves their intellectual property and in particular, an app which helps manage type one diabetes.
Surrey-based, Infohealth received the app as part of their acquisition, for an undisclosed fee, of Quin Technology. It works with continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) wearable devices, combining the data extracted from the devices with user-inputted data such as dietary intake, exercise and insulin dosing.
Using AI and machine learning, the app then creates charts showing the impact of decisions and dosing on blood glucose. It can also predict the impact of future decisions on blood sugar levels, tailored to the individual.

“Our approach is to reposition digital pharmacy away from being primarily a commoditised supplier of prescription medications, and move to becoming a provider of hyper-personalised care, with a core focus on predicting which patients will benefit from proactive interventions.”
The acquisition feeds into Infohealth’s wider ‘Now Patient’ initiative, which uses data points to adapt the health education resources and clinical interventions offered to patients.
