Southampton: WeFix deal advised by Clarke Willmott
Southampton law firm Clarke Willmott LLP has assisted on a deal between mobile giant Brightstar and mobile repair business WeFix.
Mobile distributor and lifecycle management firm Brightstar has acquired a majority stake in repair specialist WeFix in a deal completed in March.
Clarke Willmott acted for the owners of WeFix and the deal was lead by partner and head of the Southampton corporate team Kelvin Balmont, with assistance from the firm’s employment and intellectual property teams.
The investment from Brightstar will allow WeFix to expand its fleet of mobile repair workshops from 73 to 150 vehicles in the UK and to other parts of Europe, Canada and the USA by 2022.
Kelvin Balmont at Clarke Willmott said: “We are delighted to have secured this investment for our client WeFix. The deal is a significant milestone on the company’s road to expansion and we’re pleased that it was completed in a timely and efficient manner.
“This deal required multi-team cooperation and demonstrates our abilities as an office to complete on transactions like this.”
The deal is also a strategic move for Brightstar’s after-sales service and will help to strengthen customer relationships.
WeFix CEO Aaron Brown said: “Together with Brightstar we’ll be able to deliver a customer experience like never before, with every aspect of in-life device support covered.”
Clarke Willmott is a national law firm with offices in Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, London, Manchester, Southampton and Taunton.
