Reading: Champion of change to speak at Women in Business event
Aki Stamatis, one of the founders of the Fourfront Group, is a special guest speaker at the Women in Business launch event at Apex Plaza, next to the town's new rail station, on February 1.
Under the sub-title, Leadership & Inclusion: time to get involved, more than 100 women and men are expected at the networking evening, staged by The Business Magazine.
Drinks and canapes will be served as guests hear from a panel of former winners - including Sandra Sassow of SeaB Energy, Georgina Hurcombe of LoveLove Films, and Sarah Chapman of 3M.
Special guest speakers include racing driver Rebecca Jackson, owner of Prestige Cars, and Aki Stamatis.
As chairman of Fourfront Group, Stamatis plays a major role in setting the strategy, direction and development of the Group. He is behind key initiatives such as the Fourfront Way and Women in Fourfront which have achieved recognition both inside and outside the industry, most recently Aki being nominated as an ‘agent of change’ in gender inequality.
Alongside Fourfront Group’s HR director Pippa Savory, Stamatis launched the Women in Fourfront initiative three years ago to develop and support the firm’s female employees. Two women who took part in the programme have since been promoted to Fourfront’s board and the company was named an Enlightened Employer at the Women in Business Awards.
Being an accredited business coach and mentor, Stamatis is a great believer in a company culture focused on developing people.
The event, hosted by Barclays, is the Apex Plaza Atrium from 5pm to 7pm, and is free to attend.
