Isle of Wight salons seek change of use
Isle of Wight council are seeking submissions from the public on two empty hairdressing and salon units.
One empty Shanklin High Street unit seems set to become a cocktail and wine bar. While the former Post Office site on Pier Road seems likely to be converted from a retail unit to a holiday let.
Planning application by Mr. Wesley Malin is seeking to change the former Nathalie Clare Hairdressers into a cocktail bar, called Malins.
In addition the former Post Office also housed a salon after it closed in 2015. Unfortunately the salon closed its doors for the last time in 2020.
The beauty salon has been vacant since January 2020 and there have been unsuccessful attempts to convert the premises into a commercial business unit, therefore the owner is applying for a change of use.
Mr M. Suter, has applied to the council to transform the Pier Road shop into a holiday let, with parts of the building set to be demolished and the front altered. Although it would remain white in fitting with adjacent units.
Full plans are available for consultation on the Council website.
