Hampshire: Eric Robinson Solicitors makes partnership promotions
Eric Robinson Solicitors, the Hampshire law firm, has expanded its equity partnership with the promotion and addition of Emily Taylor, the firm’s heads of wills, trusts and succession; and of Thomas Hunt, head of the employment and immigration team, who will now also be in charge of the firm’s seventh office which will open in Basingstoke at the start of the summer.
Taylor, a private-client specialist, has returned after maternity leave for her third child to resume her management of the firm’s offices in Chandler's Ford and join the partnership of a firm she first experienced during a school work placement 20 years ago.
She completed a law degree at the University of Southampton, an LPC at Guildford Law School and a two-year training contract with Eric Robinson Solicitors across a range of legal disciplines, before deciding to specialise in wills, trust and succession. After a decade spent acquiring both legal and managerial experience, she took responsibility for leading her department.
She commented: “The evolution of Eric Robinson Solicitors over the past few years has been inspiring and exhilarating. The firm has constantly met the modern challenges of the legal profession with originality, enthusiasm and determination.”
Hunt joined the firm in 2013 as head of its employment and immigration team. He graduated with a degree in law from the University of East Anglia, passed his LPC at the Inns of Court School of Law in Gray’s Inn, and before qualifying as a solicitor spent a year working for the Home Office on judicial-review cases before the high court.
He said: “While many firms are centralising and closing down offices, this will be our third new office in as many years.”’
Catherine Maxfield, managing partner, said: “The fact that two such talented individuals have decided to make the biggest commitment to Eric Robinson Solicitors is testimony to our success, growth and ambition in recent years. I
know I speak for myself and the three other equity partners when I say how delighted we are that they are joining us.”
