Oxford: Critchleys makes five partner promotions

By Dan Teuton
11 June 2015

Chartered accountants and business advisers Critchleys has appointed five new partners with effect from June 1.

The five are all existing employees of the leading Oxford-based practice and have specialisms in various areas of the business. Between them they already have 75 years of service with the firm.

These promotions mark a period of significant success for Critchleys over the past 18 months.

Chairman Anthony Harris commented: "We are always keen to tap into our existing talent and we are therefore very pleased that all five have accepted their offers of partnership.

"This is demonstrative of the recent success Critchleys has enjoyed and our appetite for growth in an increasingly-buoyant economy. This is also a compliment to our colleagues who recruited and developed these individuals to enable them to have grown in stature to be invited to take these roles.

"Each of the five has made a significant contribution to Critchleys already in winning and serving clients, and we have no doubt they will continue in this vein enhancing Critchleys' and their own reputations."

Kathryn Pocock, partner, head of academies team
Pocock works predominantly with the charity and education sectors. She advises and supports Critchleys’ academy clients which include over 60 schools across 24 academy trusts. She has also recently worked with a number of University of Oxford college clients.

Caroline Webster, partner, director of audit and assurance
Webster qualified with Critchleys and manages a varied portfolio of audit clients, including many charities and university colleges. Increasingly, she deals with clients in the technology sector. Webster was recently part of the team that gained Critchleys' first Cambridge college audit to add to the many Oxford colleges the firm deals with. She manages the audit team of 20 for Critchleys and has recently implemented a paperless audit system.

Andrew Rodzynski, partner, audit
Rodzynski joined Critchleys in 2004 and quickly progressed to the role of audit manager. His commercial portfolio includes multiple international groups and companies in the technology, manufacturing and distribution sectors and his diverse charity portfolio encompasses many Oxford colleges.  He enjoys volunteering as a trustee of a local charity and using this experience of applying his skills to practical situations that arise within charity operations and governance.

Lawrence King, partner, business recovery and insolvency
King is a licensed insolvency practitioner and member of the Association of Business Recovery Professionals. Heading up the BRI offering at Critchleys, he provides advice to directors, debtors, shareholders and creditors alike with an emphasis on turnaround where possible.

Katy Bruce, partner, corporate finance
Bruce works exclusively in corporate finance, advising clients on buying and selling businesses across a variety of sectors. An experienced and successful negotiator and project manager, she provides lead advisory services as well as leading Critchleys’ due diligence service.
