Oxford: Ed Porter joins accountants Shaw Gibbs as director of audit
Ed Porter, an experienced accountant in both practice and industry, has been appointed director of audit for Oxford-based firm Shaw Gibbs. Based within the firm’s Business Services Division, Porter will continue to grow the firm’s capabilities in providing auditing services, while strengthening its competitive edge in both customer service and technical ability.
Porter commented on his appointment: “There is a strong sense of commerce about Shaw Gibbs that is refreshing for a firm of its size, and a real impression that everyone works together to achieve the best outcome for the client. The Business Services Division in particular combines the best of technical ability with client-focused auditing skills.
“Ever since moving to Oxfordshire I have watched Shaw Gibbs increase its presence in the county and have been keen to be a part of its success. I am very proud to be joining them.”
Graham Henley, Shaw Gibbs managing director, added: “Ours is a business which is focused on our clients’ needs and we look for managers with strong business acumen who understand the real world challenges our clients are facing. Ed’s experience, technical ability and leadership skills are a great asset to Shaw Gibbs and we welcome him warmly.”
