Oxfordshire: Experienced finance professionals add to Shaw Gibbs' growing team
Oxford accountancy firm Shaw Gibbs has added to its team’s professional credentials with the appointment of two highly-experienced practitioners.
Tim Davison joins the financial services team as chartered financial planner, bringing 27 years of experience, and Adrian Stevens, with more than two decades in taxation, joins as personal tax consultant.
Bringing a wealth of experience in financial planning, problem solving and business development, Davison joins Shaw Gibbs from Fortitude Financial Planning. Before qualifying as an IFA in 2001, he handled technical business development for large investment groups such as Scottish Widows.
Commenting on his appointment, he said: “The biggest buzz I get from this role is making a genuine difference to people's lives. Shaw Gibbs is a young, vibrant firm with ambitious growth plans, and I am very happy to be able to contribute to that.”
A fellow of the Association of Taxation Technicians, Stevens will be handling tax affairs for individuals and owner-managed businesses. He will use his experience to provide advisory and compliance services within the Shaw Gibbs personal tax team.
A qualified Taxation Specialist since 1993, in 2011 Adrian became one of the first to be appointed fellow of the Association of Taxation Technicians. He began his career with Inland Revenue in the late 1980s and has worked for several large organisations including Grant Thornton, Haines Watts and Wilkins Kennedy. He joins Shaw Gibbs from Brooks Mayfield in Nottingham.
He said: “Shaw Gibbs enjoys an incredibly varied workload from a diverse client base. This, together with a fresh outlook and high levels of professionalism, is what drew me to the firm. I’m looking forward to applying my varied tax experience to helping clients on a wide range of tax issues.”
