Moore Blatch Resolve has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of experienced clinical negligence practitioner Paula Nash.

Nash joins the firm to head up the community health law department, which offers specialist advice to clients across a broad range of health and care issues, including elderly and disability care, the Children’s Act, grants, benefits and social services assessments.

One of the first issues she will be dealing with is helping families and individuals beat a September 30 deadline for claiming back nursing or care home fees which have been paid out for care needed as a result of a health problem.

As a leading expert in her field, Nash has spoken and written on the subject of community health law at numerous events, including leading a recent Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA) conference.

Nash previously held the position of partner at Shropshire law firm Lanyon Bowdler, where she was head of clinical negligence.

In her new role she will work closely with Kelly Grieg, head of the firm’s court of protection team, and also with the clinical negligence and personal injury teams.

“I am excited to be joining such a talented team of lawyers and to be embarking on a fresh challenge,” said Nash. “Over the years I have developed a keen interest and specialism, alongside my clinical negligence practice, in the field of community care and healthcare law. I’m looking forward to developing the community health law department and in helping to growing its reputation within the region.”

She added: “Moore Blatch Resolve is a forward thinking firm with a fantastic national reputation. The team is committed to making a real difference to the quality of life for vulnerable people, as well as their families and carers.”

Tim Spring, partner at Moore Blatch, said: “Paula has extensive knowledge and experience and will be an asset to the firm. Her skills complement the established healthcare law team we have at Moore Blatch Resolve, which works with clients across a wide range of disciplines and includes dual qualified lawyers who possess qualifications in both medicine and nursing.”

Nash has been a clinical negligence practitioner for over 20 years and has been a member of the Law Society Clinical Negligence Panel for the past decade. She is also recognised by the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) as a senior accredited litigator. She holds a BA (hons) in Law from the University of West of England and is rated in both Chambers directory and The Legal 500 as a ‘Leader’ in her field.
