Southampton: Paris Smith strengthens corporate team
The Corporate, Banking and Commercial teams at Paris Smith LLP have been significantly strengthened by the appointment of two new partners.
Michael Moore has joined from Blake Lapthorn, having previously spent nine years at a leading international law firm. Crispin Dick, previously a senior commercial associate with global law firm Clifford Chance, has joined as an experienced commercial lawyer and has taken over leadership of the Commercial team.
Michael specialises in public and private company mergers and acquisitions, private equity, bank finance and restructurings in a wide variety of market sectors. Many of the transactions he has acted on have had an international element.
Moore commented: “I am extremely pleased to have joined the team at this exciting time in its development. Having worked in the region for several years now, I am well aware of the team's outstanding reputation and the quality of its work.“
Crispin Dick advises both large international corporates and smaller owner managed businesses, with experience covering a wide range of sectors, including financial services, automotive, leisure, consumer, tobacco, food and drinks, and rail.
Dick said: “I am delighted to have joined Paris Smith. The firm has an outstanding reputation for providing pragmatic high quality advice and service, which fits with my approach. I hope my wide experience will further strengthen this excellent team”.
Nick Vaughan, Senior Partner, is delighted to welcome the two new partners to the firm and said “the addition of Michael and Crispin shows the firm’s commitment to our clients in providing the best possible advice and support. Our Corporate & Commercial Department is now 16 lawyers strong, 8 of whom are partners, making us one of the largest and most experienced teams in the region”.
This follows the arrival earlier in the year of Rachel Burnett, who heads up the specialist IT/IP team, providing legal services in an area of growing importance to our clients’ businesses, whether as suppliers, service providers or users.
