Thames Valley: Blake Lapthorn to host HR forum: 'Key considerations under TUPE'

By Dan Teuton
17 April 2014

Managers and HR professionals in the Thames Valley are invited to a free forum: 'Key considerations under TUPE', to be hosted by law firm Blake Lapthorn. The event takes place on Tuesday May 13 from 8.40am to 10am at Seacourt Tower, West Way in Oxford.

TUPE is a complex area of law which offers significant protection to employees involved in a transfer and obligations for the new employer. Recent changes to TUPE will impact on the way that organisations handle transfers.

The forum will guide attendees through these changes to the TUPE process and what they mean for organisations. It will highlight key areas to look out for to protect an organisation, through an interactive case study, and Blake Lapthorn specialists will look at:

  • when TUPE applies;
  • obligations to inform and consult employees;
  • the automatic transfer principle;
  • TUPE and redundancy
  • harmonising terms and conditions.

Most organisations are likely to be affected by TUPE, says Blake Lapthorn, and this complimentary event is for managers and HR professionals who need to be aware of what the process now involves and the potential consequences of non-compliance.
