Origin provides specialist on-farm agronomy services, digital agricultural services and supplies crop technologies and inputs. Origin is headquartered in Dublin and operates in seven countries internationally. Green-tech is the UK’s leading manufacturer and distributor of landscaping, forestry and grounds maintenance equipment.

The acquisition is expected to enhance the offering of Origin’s amenity businesses and offer potential in the area of environmental land management and bio-diversity enhancement for the group’s agri-focused businesses.

Boyes Turner advised Origin on the acquisition, as well as employment law and commercial property issues. The acquisition team was led by Chris Dobson, corporate partner at Boyes Turner. He said: “Boyes Turner is delighted to have advised Origin on this deal, allowing it to enhance its offering to customers across the UK, drive product development and support growth. It is always exciting to help a business expand, especially when the deal offers potential for continued growth.”

Commenting on the acquisition, Origin chief executive officer, Sean Coyle, said: “Green-tech is an excellent strategic fit for Origin and extends our amenity offering in the UK in a segment we expect will grow further in the coming years. We are delighted to welcome the Green-tech team to the Origin Group”.

The Boyes Turner deal team included Mark Blunden (head of business services) and relationship manager for Origin, Chris Dobson and Grace Hudson (corporate), Calum Parfitt (commercial), Katie Harris (employment) and Philip Jacques (property).
