VIQU unveils new Southampton office for growing team
After experiencing continued success in Southampton, IT recruitment business, VIQU has opened a brand-new office in Ocean Village, Southampton to accommodate its growing recruitment team.
VIQU was attracted to the Hampshire region in 2017, after its managing director Matt Collingwood identified the Solent region as an attractive location for tech talent and businesses alike. With its world-leading research-intensive university, higher-than-average salaries for IT professionals outside of London and a score of ‘very high’ for quality of life, due to its low cost of living and abundance of green space, Southampton was an obvious decision for VIQU.
Since opening a small satellite office in Ocean Village, Southampton in May 2018, both VIQU and Southampton’s tech sector have continued to flourish and grow, with the city being labelled as a top-five ‘tech supercluster’ and big names like Starling Banking opening offices within the region. This culminated in the inevitable purchase of a spacious ground floor office space on the cusp of Ocean Village in spring 2020.
Over 12 months, VIQU worked with a number of local businesses including Bluewood Office Interiors and Lime Signs to renovate the space into an engaging office which reflects VIQU’s brand and forward-thinking ethos.
After a consultation with the team to discuss what they would like to see in the new office, VIQU added a number of additional features to the office for its team’s overall well-being, including standing desks for ergonomic reasons, and a shower room so that team members could cycle to work or exercise in their lunchtime. The office also features a private board room and bright, inviting graphics that highlight VIQU’s fun and friendly team culture.
Comfortably seating 22 people, VIQU now has the space for rapid team growth, with current opportunities ranging from recruitment consultant to billing manager/team leader level.
