Surveyors vs Solicitors Golf Tournament raises money for Ukraine appeal
Surveyors and Solicitors from across the South East raised more than £2,000 for the Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal at one of the area’s most-popular golf days.
The annual Surveyors vs Solicitors Golf Tournament returned this month for the first time since COVID19. This longstanding event, running for more than 20 years, was hosted by previous champions Sillence Hurn Building Consultancy.
The tournament attracted more than 40 golfers at Hockley Golf Club, Twyford on Monday 9th May.
The Surveyors and Solicitors kept their cool when competing in warm 23-degree conditions with
various competitions up for grabs, including Longest Drive, Closest to the Pins, and best group.
It was a close tournament with the Solicitors narrowly beating the Surveyors for the overall title.
The tournament champion was Andy Guntrip, pictured above, from SHB Real Estate, who will be hosting next year's event.
Award winners included:
• Andy Goodridge, Forelle Estates
• Robert Salame, Steele Raymond Solicitors
• Rob Horton, Woolley & Wallis
• Daniel Szasz, Dutton Gregory
• Alex Hurn, Sillence Hurn Building Consultancy
Alex Hurn, Managing Director of Sillence Hurn, said: “Huge thanks to everyone who attended,
donated, and helped organise this year’s Surveyors vs Solicitors. It was great to recommence the event after a couple of years were postponed due to Covid-19. Most importantly we raised more than £2,000 for the Ukraine Humanitarian Response – a fantastic amount. Congratulations to all winners and golfers who achieved PBs, with some competing for the first time.”
