Amesbury: Solstice Park to house new big-name builders' merchant
Salisbury-based Myddelton and Major was joint agent in securing builders' merchant Travis Perkins for Solstice Park in Amesbury.
Travis Perkins will develop a 10,000 sq ft facility on a 1.75-acre plot at the rapidly-growing industrial and distribution hub. The yet-to-be-built unit is on the section of the 160-acre park known as EOS. NRG Developments has also recently acquired 1.3 acres there to speculatively develop 36 units ranging from 1,500 sq ft to 3,000 sq ft, subject to planning.
David Fahie, development director at Amesbury Property Company which has developed Solstice Park, said: “This is a major coup for the town. With so much development happening around Amesbury – both new housing and the massive expansion of the Army Garrisons, Travis Perkins has stolen a march on the competition by becoming the first full-service builders merchant in the area.”
Philip Holford of Myddelton and Major added: “With Travis Perkins on the site other trade-counter operators are sure to follow, especially with the new development of business units that will be available.”
Solstice Park is an established 160-acre business park situated alongside the A303 dual carriageway. Current occupiers include Home Bargains, Muller Wiseman and Tintometer. The services provided include Holiday Inn Hotel, Toby Inn, Co-op Food, Pizza Hut, Costa Coffee, Kentucky Fried Chicken and McDonald’s.
