Frasers Property UK has announced that a new innovative office space designed specifically for the workforce of the future will open its doors in Basingstoke’s Chineham Park. Spanning 89,000 sq ft, the Maplewood development has been designed to attract and retain the brightest talent in the area and is due to open in August.

Chineham Park was purchased by Frasers Property, which owns a £1 billion portfolio of business parks in the United Kingdom, 18 months ago. Chineham Park is currently home to over 60 businesses many of which are in the technology sector including CenturyLink, Vyaire, Tech Data, Exertis, Gist and Lenovo. The new development aims to continue the park’s expansion and is appealing to the digital generation and encouraging modern businesses to relocate to Maplewood at Chineham Park.

A wealth of recent research revealed that by 2020, the global workforce will be dominated by Millennials (35%) and Generation Z (35%), and that young workers are looking for more modern and flexible working environments. Frasers Property believes Maplewood is a perfect example of that.

Rupert Batho, commercial director at Frasers Property, said: “Employers are more aware than ever that the way people work is changing and yet there is limited workspace to accommodate this. At Frasers Property we are designing workspaces to attract the brightest talent and that encourage sociable and creative working conditions.”

With three specially designed floors, Maplewood can accommodate any size of business from 50 to 850 people.

Batho added: “Our goal is to provide modern and innovative office space for employers and their employees. With a series of collaboration zones to encourage interaction among employees, it is a fitting home for the workspace of the future and is perfectly equipped to deliver the freedom to flourish.”

Frasers Property aims to help manage the pressures of life at Chineham Park, offering an on-site nursery where parents can drop their children off before work, 20 acres of parkland where staff can take a woodland walk at lunchtime and an on-site gym that offers over 60 fitness classes a week. There is a weekly running club and a packed programme of events throughout the year ranging from a Summer festival and language classes to Pilates sessions and gardening workshops. Street food trucks regularly visit, and social media channels keep everybody connected, inspired and informed.
