Hampshire pub The Chequers undergoes £100,000 refurbishment
Historic country pub The Chequers in Hampshire has undergone a £100,000 refurbishment.
The revamp - funded by Peach Pubs - has seen many changes to both the interior and exterior of the pub in Eversley Cross near Hook. External seating and patio extension formed part of the works.
Meanwhile, the interior has been redecorated with changes including the reuse and repurposing of furniture, with existing furniture being reupholstered in traditional, British-made fabrics. Added to this, the pub features new artwork thematically based around The Chequers name - including antique boardgames and vintage items.
Laura Watts is the new General Manager of the gastropub and she said: “We really have everything you need for a superb summer at The Chequers and can’t wait to welcome you to the pub, which is truly looking its best.
“I may be new to this pub, but I’m not new to hospitality nor the area. I was born and bred in Woking and know and love the town plus I have worked in good restaurants offering great hospitality for a number of years.
“I’m delighted to have joined the team of this one, and to be working with a wonderful group of people making the pub really feel like home.”
