For the second year running, Poole Quay Boat Haven has picked up one of the marine industry’s most prestigious awards. It beat off competition from 40 marinas around the UK to be named as UK Coastal Marina of the Year 2017 (under 250 berths) by The Yacht Harbour Association (TYHA).
Jonathan White, general manager at TYHA, commented: “Winning this accolade for a second-year running is further evidence that the customer service and facilities provided by this dedicated team in Poole are of the highest professional standards and greatly valued by moorers and customers of this excellent 5 Gold Anchor accredited marina.”
The Boat Haven offers up to 125 berths for everything from jet skis to 50m superyachts. With direct access to Poole Quay and the historic Old Town, it’s just a short distance away from the Blue Flag beaches of Sandbanks, making it an ideal location for a day visit or a longer stay.
Poole Quay Boat Haven and Port of Poole Marina are run by Poole Harbour Commissioners (PHC) which both hold TYHA’s coveted 5 Gold Anchor Award, a measure of marina quality and customer service. To achieve this recognition, the Boat Haven had to pass a series of rigorous tests including a marina audit, mystery shops and berth holders questionnaires.
Jim Stewart, PHC’s chief executive, said: “The team at the Boat Haven pride themselves on maintaining a high standard of care for their visitors and I’m delighted to congratulate them all on this fantastic achievement.”
