Portsmouth: Lakeside supports Astute Technical's expansion
Lakeside North Harbour has supported a bespoke office fit-out for Astute Technical Recruitment, ahead of the company's expansion on the prestigious business campus. Astute, which has occupied space at Lakeside North Harbour for 10 years, initiated the move earlier this year following its successful growth and need for more extensive office space.
Established in 2006, Astute originally moved to Lakeside North Harbour in 2008 after the business had grown to 18 members of staff. The key criteria for the move onto campus included the need for more space and better car parking facilities, but was mainly driven by Astute's desire to find a more prestigious office location which would help properly convey the success of the business to date.
Since moving onto Lakeside North Harbour Astute has enjoyed steady success, increasing its turnover tenfold and doubling the number of employees, which culminated in the need to move into larger office space. Working with Lakeside's on-site Commercial and Facilities Management teams enabled Astute to secure a top floor office with a private balcony overlooking the lake. Rather than opt for a standard general office fit out, Astute chose to enact a bespoke design and set up of the new office, which was created and installed by another Lakeside occupier, IRC Interiors. The customised specification includes a complete re-design of the existing layout, resulting in a more flexible office space, highly efficient LED lighting and open ceilings to give an ‘industrial look' to the main sales floor. Extensive use of glass walls and doors rather than traditional plasterboard partitions allows the natural light into the south-facing office.
