Five new businesses are moving into Suttons Business Park, Reading, in a further sign of growing demand for commercial property space. Thermal Management Solutions, Hutchinson Stop Choc, Automotive Parts Distribution, BCB Service Solutions Limited and Henley Raw Dog Food will take up residency at the Park, which is owned by Aberdeen Standard Investments. Haslams acted for Aberdeen Standard Investments, Vail Williams for Thermal Management Solutions and Colliers International for Hutchinson Stop Choc.

Thermal Management Solutions leased an 87,000 sq ft industrial unit. Hutchinson Stop Choc, a leader in the design, manufacture and application of vibration control equipment and systems technology, leased a newly developed 31,150 sq ft industrial and warehouse unit. Automotive Parts Distribution and Henley Raw Dog Food each leased industrial and warehouse units of around 3,500 sq ft, while BCB leased 4,500 sq ft to facilitate its expansion plans.

Commenting on the recent activity Neil Seager, Partner and Head of Commercial Agency at Haslams, the agents for the park, said: “With a number of other lettings in the pipeline, the park will be almost 100% occupied in the coming months.”

Haslams prepared for growth

Haslams partner Neil Seager said: "While there are both new and familiar challenges to deal with, given our breadth of service and the continued strength of the industrial and land market, we have fared well over the last 18 months. Going forward we are looking to upscale and consolidate our position in the commercial and land market.”

To strengthen its presence in the Thames Valley, Haslams has just recruited two University of Reading graduates, Emily Hill and Josh Grimes, who will work towards becoming qualified Chartered Surveyors. “With the buoyancy in the industrial market continuing to outperform and the office market improving post Covid-19, it is important we added to our team”, added Seager.

Haslams has been based in Reading for nearly 200 years and has a 60-strong team of property professionals.

Suttons Business Park is located one mile west of Reading town centre on the former site of Suttons Seeds. Businesses located at the Park include Hitachi, SAS International, Royal Mail, Costa Coffee, Brakes and Aldi.

Aberdeen Standard Investments (now called abrdn) manages £464.7bn of assets on behalf of governments, pension funds, insurers, companies and charities in 80 countries. The London-headquartered company has offices in 40 countries.
