Savills appoint new senior planner in Oxford
Savills have made a key appointment to their planning team in Oxford.
The company has appointed John Gale as a senior planner within its planning consultancy team
in Oxford and will join a team of 14 planning experts in Savills Oxford office who, together with its 11-strong team in Reading, provide strong coverage across the Oxford-Cambridge Arc and the Thames Valley.
John joins from Cherwell District Council where he has worked as a planning officer since 2017.
While at Cherwell District Council John handled a broad caseload of applications for development across
north Oxfordshire, from the conversion of individual buildings, including industrial units and Grade II and
Grade I listed dwellings, as well as housing developments.
He was recently involved in the project to develop the UK’s first eco town in Bicester which will, when complete, deliver up to 6,000 zero carbon homes.
John said: "I am really pleased to have joined such a dynamic team and look forward to using my local knowledge
alongside the varied experience I gained in the public sector to further strengthen it."
Rob Linnell, head of the Savills planning team in Oxford, welcomed John to the team.
