Bournemouth Borough Council (BCP Council) and CityFibre are proud and delighted to announce that Poole Quay’s summertime fireworks will be back later this year with the new title of ‘CityFibre Poole Quay Summer Fireworks’.

‘CityFibre Spectacular’ will see family fun and live music staged at the Quay before finishing with a fireworks finale at 10pm

The much anticipated and loved event was cancelled last year but promises to be back bigger and better this summer with a ‘City Fibre Spectacular’ line up of weekly family entertainment.

Taking place across five Thursdays in July and August the ‘CityFibre Spectacular’ will see family fun and live music staged at the Quay before finishing with a fireworks finale at 10pm.

Councillor Beverley Dunlop, lead member for Cultural Events, Festival Coast Live! and Bournemouth Regeneration, said: “It’s really fantastic, positive news to have confirmed our partnership with CityFibre. As we move towards summertime, we’re hopeful we will be able to welcome people to the town; the weekly fireworks we’ve hosted over the years have always offered a great relaxed and fun time. This year’s added entertainment and music programme will certainly create a fantastic atmosphere for residents and holiday makers alike.”

In line with government guidance the first 'CityFibre Spectacular' and 'CityFibre Poole Quay Summer Fireworks' are scheduled to take place for six weeks in July and August. This latest event forms part of the exciting ‘Festival Coast Live!' – an ambitious programme of outdoor activities and events celebrating community, talent and performance. Set to take place late spring and summer across the BCP region, Festival Coast Live! is being developed to connect communities and entertain both residents and visitors.

Lucy Cooper, city manager of CityFibre, said: “We’re delighted to be sponsoring the Poole Quay Summer Fireworks programme this year. With the prediction of a staycation this summer, it’s a fantastic opportunity to partner with BCP Council at a series of events. It also offers us a perfect platform to meet local residents and explain who CityFibre are, what we do, and talk through how we are building a world-class, digital infrastructure in the town.”
