Hampshire-based Green Snow helps Team GB to exceed online merchandise sales by 50%

Ower-based company Green Snow, which specialises in managing sports and outdoor brands, has worked directly with Team GB in creating and promoting a range of merchandise for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games, including clothing and accessories.

As a privately funded organisation, Team GB’s success is reliant on money raised through commercial activities, and the online shop plays a critical part in this, with earnings reinvested to take athletes to the Paris 2024 Olympic Games and beyond.

Team GB merchandise has enjoyed unprecedented global sales during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Green Snow has shipped thousands of orders around the world, exceeding the sales levels experienced during the 2016 Rio Olympics by 50%.

Iwan Thomas (pictured), the Southampton-based Olympic legend and silver medallist, recently popped in to give staff a boost at the online retail firm’s warehouse in Ower. Thomas helped 'pick and pack' items from Green Snow’s official Team GB online shop, ranging from the official Adidas Team GB kit to children’s fun T-shirts featuring the ever-popular Peppa Pig urging youngsters to 'Believe in Extraordinary'.

Within the last three years, Green Snow has built the current official Team GB website and started the process of providing fans with branded merchandise for the organisation, helping build Team GB’s online commercial success story.

Green Snow’s Managing Director, Steve Mills, said: "We’re incredibly proud of the entire team’s Olympian efforts here in stepping up to deliver over and above, both during the Games and in the challenging build-up over the last few years.

"All the Green Snow team were delighted to see local Olympic hero Iwan Thomas on the starting blocks ready to lend a hand in tackling our massive Team GB distribution challenge. It was great fun to have him here and it gave everybody at Green Snow a real boost to have him on board for the day."

Team GB’s Head of Brand Licensing and Retail, Paul Ellis, said: "We’ve enjoyed a great relationship with the team at Green Snow who has pulled out all the stops to ensure a fantastic store experience for our fans during the Olympics.

"Their experience and passion has resulted in a strong performance during the games, and we are delighted for the contribution that it gives back to Team GB."
