Irwin Mitchell’s new report looks at the developing trends that are currently affecting the consumer sector. The Changing Consumer report examines key changes that have occurred in the sector, many of which have been accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic, and examines a number of the key legal considerations.
Some of the key facts that the report analyses include:
- 61% of consumers have changed stores, brands or the way they shop since the pandemic.
- 45% of consumers predict they’ll mainly connect with brands through digital channels in the future.
- 20% of consumers hadn’t considered buying groceries online before the pandemic but 41% of this group have made the switch.
The report incorporates legal expertise from a range of disciplines, including real estate, employment and commercial. The firm makes a number of recommended actions and considerations for consumer businesses in the future.
In addition, Irwin Mitchell’s detailed look at the main issues includes input from Damon Segal, co-founder of The Academy of Chief Marketers, along with businesses that work with the firm.
Rob Coleridge, senior associate at Irwin Mitchell and consumer sector expert, said: “It’s hard to think of a time when businesses operating in the consumer space have been so heavily impacted. For a sector that contributes so much to our overall economy, there’s been a great deal of insight and analysis into the trends that are emerging.
“We have looked at this and have consolidated much of this into key themes and then highlighted the areas that need attention and action.”
