Bloor Homes buys South Winchester Golf Club to build 1,000 homes
Homebuilder Bloor Homes has acquired the South Winchester Golf Club from Crown Golf Property and plans to reshape it into a new housing complex, set to include 1,000 new homes, a park and ride facility, a primary school, public open space, and sports pitches.
While the terms of the deal remain confidential, the golf course will continue to be in use until 2025.
Bloor Homes was advised on the transaction by law firm Gowlings, while Shoosmiths acted for Crown Golf Property.
In a similar move, housebuilder Cala Homes recently acquired part of the Milford Golf Club in Surrey to build 180 new luxury family homes.
About the club
South Winchester Golf Club is one of the nine golf clubs operated by Crown Golf Property. It was opened in 1993 and is made up of 18up 18 holes over 23 acres of land.
