Enviromena on target to switch on two solar farms in south next year
Reading-based Enviromena continues to shine in the UK renewables space and is on target to complete two solar farms in southern England early next year.
Its Kiln Fields project in Heckfield near Hook in Hampshire, and Horsey Levels in Bridgwater, Somerset, which both secured planning permission last year, will generate combined enough power annually for 16,450 average-sized homes and offset 11,000 tonnes in carbon emissions.

It comes after the firm's Three Maids Hill in Winchester, Hampshire was energised in late 2022, while its first solar farm in Wales - Bryngolwg - went live last month.
The company also energised its first site in Italy in Collepasso in the summer of 2022.
"The construction progress made on the projects in Heckfield and Bridgwater are further evidence on Enviromena’s growing presence in the UK solar industry," said Chris Marsh, CEO at Enviromena.
"These two high yielding schemes form part of a portfolio that will deliver a considerable contribution to the UK’s transition to Net Zero targets and we are looking forward to energising both projects alongside commencing construction on a further 150MW of projects in early 2024."
Gary Hales, the company's chief operating officer (COO) added: "Our in house project management teams are pushing forward at speed with the construction of both projects which are on schedule to complete in line with project programmes.
"Furthermore, our grid team are working closely with our ICP partner to ensure all connection related activities are finalised ready for energisation in early 2024."
When fully operational, Horsey Levels will have a capacity of 24.18MWp and will generate over 28,000MWhs of energy a year, offsetting around 6,500 tonnes of carbon emissions.
Kiln Fields is set to be similarly large, generating over 19,000 MWhs of energy per year and could offset around 4,500 tonnes of carbon emissions .
Enviromena has more than 2GW of active solar farms and battery energy storage systems in development and operation throughout the UK and Europe.
Last month, it announced it had just completed a major equity raise of £65million, which will support the growth of its constructed and operational UK solar portfolio to over 500MW by 2025.
