The world-leading, independent health science communications consultancy Oxford PharmaGenesis is celebrating its second Queen’s Award for Enterprise, the UK’s highest accolade for business success.

Group communications director Dr Andy Sheridan said: “It’s brilliant to be recognised for a second time in the category Outstanding Achievement in International Trade. Since our last Queen’s Award in 2015, our total annual sales have more than doubled again from £10 million to over £21m. This doesn’t just happen by chance: it happens because of the tremendous teamwork of the excellent people we have recruited and trained throughout our organisation, and the fantastic support we receive from our clients around the world.”

CEO Dr Chris Winchester added: “Our mission is to help our clients bring new treatments to patients in areas of unmet medical need. What more satisfying objective could there be? We focus all our energy on this and take care to deliver outstanding service to all our clients, which include nine of the top 10 pharmaceutical companies in the world and many leading patient societies. We are not part of a larger group driven purely by financial targets, and we have found that doing things our way not only brings business success and a fast pace of organic growth but is also immensely satisfying.”

“We care most about the patients we ultimately serve,” said COO Dr Richard White, “and we can only do this by being a successful business, so it is great to receive external validation of our work. In the past year, we have been the only company in our sector to be named for a second time in the ‘1000 Companies to Inspire Britain’ report from the London Stock Exchange Group. Also, for the second time, we have been named as a member of the Alantra Pharma Fast 50, the fastest-growing, independently owned pharmaceutical and technology companies in the UK.”

Company founder and chairman Dr Graham Shelton concluded: “We are proud to have grown from our base in Oxford, with its superb heritage of academic, clinical and language excellence, to employ over 260 people in offices not only in Oxford, but also in London, Cardiff, Basel, Melbourne and Philadelphia. We see a growing need for our services throughout the world and are looking forward to opening new offices wherever we see a business case. It has been a thrilling journey over the past 22 years and there is a great deal more to come.”
